Carol Manfrin's "Objets Trouves" (created from found objects) are artistic statements which are often accompanied by Carol's poetry.

"What Goes Around Comes Around," below, is part of a series on marriage.

Artist's Statement

I am not interested in creating "living room art." The impetus for my contemporary mixed-media constructions is rage or frustration with the status quo. With my art, I attempt to make a visual commentary on some social issue or to have a personal dialogue with the viewer in order to explore our common humanity.

The method with which I choose to accomplish this is an art form called "Objets Trouves" or found objects. In other words, I use the detritus of a throw-away culture to make a statement about that culture.

"In art the great trick is not to do better, but to do otherwise." -E. Pailleron
