Artist Profile

Bernita Dodge was a student of Harlequin House Art Center, Stockton, California, for 3-1/2 years, where experimental painting
classes were a favorite along with oil painting and batik.
Bernita attended workshops in Taos, New Mexico; Scottsdale, Arizona; Mendocino and the Bay Area while a thirty four year
resident of Campbell, California. Another highlight was going to the Arrowmont School of Arts and Crafts in Gatlinburg, Tennessee,
to study silk painting with twenty other painters from around the world. Ed Lambert, Professor of Art from the University
of Georgia was the instructor.
Bernita was president of the Saratoga Contemporary Artists group, 1979-80. She is a long time member of the Surface Design
Association, has had numerous art shows in Half Moon Bay, Stockton, Los Gatos, Saratoga (Villa Montalvo), and Amador City.
After moving to Penn Valley, she became enchanted with the Sierra landscape, the Yuba River and the family's backyard of
oak trees, with visiting deer and turkeys.
