Artist Profile

Bryan Smith has led a multifaceted life: aircraft engineer and administrator for 20 years; art teacher (7th through 12th
grades) for 18 years; and now a watercolorist in semi-retirement.
Trained at Schaeffer's School of Color and Design, the Art Center, and California College of Arts and Crafts, Bryan brings
a wealth of experience and know-how to his realistic watercolors. Bryan works in multimedia, but prefers the luminous quality
of watercolors. Having sold over 600 paintings and several sculptures, his track record and production have been ambitious.
He still is producing pieces at 87, and enjoys art shows and demonstrations.
Bryan's works stem from a love of nature, children and mankind. His paintings reflect nostalgic elements of commonplace
things: boats, laundry, gardens, swings--anything which touches off remembrances of pleasant pasts.
Nationally honored and collected by corporations and individuals, Bryan's works are considered a solid investment for
future appreciation.
