Artist Profile

Patricia Perbetsky began her love of the arts early. She was raised in Washington, DC and spent her childhood visiting the
museums there. She attended East Carolina University and then Mary Washington College of the University of Virginia where
she earned her B.A. as a studio art major. When she moved to Riverside, CA, with her family, she earned her Masters in Art
History from UC Riverside.
She has taught art at all levels. She presently teaches art history for Sierra College, Lake Tahoe Community College,
The College of Alameda and West Los Angeles College. Her classes include art from Pre-Historic eras through Contemporary
art, Art of the Americas, Asian, Oceanic and African art.
As a studio artist, Patricia produced and sold her paintings after moving to the Lake Tahoe area. She participated in
the Tahoe Arts Open Studio Tour and also in the street painting festival for several years. She also coordinated the Visiting
Artists Program.
When Patricia is not teaching she spends most of her time outdoors. She loves plein-air painting. She is also an avid
skier in the winter and enjoys kayaking, water skiing, golf, bicycling, and hiking in the summer.
